3/2/2023 0 Comments Hopefully soon meaningWe've met so many kind and wonderful people, heard some great life stories, made new friendships, and have been able to do it all with some fantastic employees on our team. Time passes by so quickly, it's important to pause and enjoy the little things with the people we love! Our name Brevede is a play on the word brevity, which means "shortness of time." Our goal was to create a space where people could go to stop and enjoy their time for a little. First, we love being able to open up to the community – to see people gathering together over a cup of coffee and some ridiculously good pastries to celebrate a new life event, catch up, study some schoolwork, or just get away and relax for a little. Thankfully, in September 2020 we were able to open our doors! Things looked a little different than planned – Xs on the floors to keep social distance, 50% of chair capacity set up, masks on our faces, extra cleansing process initiated – yet we were happy as can be as our dream had finally come alive.Īs passionate as we are about coffee and making an excellent product with high-quality beans and some pretty fancy equipment, the coffee aspect was always second to us. Then, as we're all aware, covid-19 hit in March 2020, and our construction progress and opening date had to be delayed. In December 2019 we set to work getting things prepped – pressure washing, mopping, scraping, painting, drilling, hammering, plumbing, electrical, furniture, equipment, and so on. After moving to Lexington and experiencing the bursting coffee culture, we knew we were in the right place at the right time.Īs with anything worthwhile, we had to overcome a few bumps along the road but finally came upon our current location at the Pepper Distillery District. We've had a passion for coffee for a long time now and daydreamed for years about opening up our own place. That's where we met, started our family, and then eventually (finally) moved to Kentucky in 2017! Nik was born in Belarus and Viorika was born in Ukraine and we both moved to America when we were young and grew up in Washington state. Thanks for visiting our site! If you haven't already, hopefully you'll come say hey in person soon!
